Nazar Elevator has published three technical guides covering elevator drive configurations: a dedicated page for machine room (MR) systems, one for machine roomless (MRL) systems, and a direct comparison of the two.
The choice between MR and MRL affects shaft dimensions, energy consumption, achievable load and speed, installation cost and how the lift is maintained over a twenty-year lifecycle. The guides were written to help specifiers and contractors make that decision before tender rather than during installation.
What the guides cover
- A twelve-point comparison table: machine location, building space, drive type, rated load, speed, energy consumption, noise, headroom, maintenance access, installation cost, suitability and standards
- How each configuration works mechanically
- When to specify each type, by building height, load and duty cycle
- A practical selection rule for projects near the boundary between the two
Availability
All three guides are published in English, Russian, Arabic, French and Spanish in the solutions section. Nazar Elevator manufactures both configurations at its Konya and Izmir facilities, in conformity with EN 81-20 and EN 81-50.
