What is a belt-driven gearless machine?
The Montanari Giulio MGX19 is a belt-driven gearless elevator traction machine. Instead of steel wire ropes it uses flat coated-steel or polyurethane belts, which allow a much smaller sheave diameter and therefore a more compact machine.
