A panoramic elevator, also called an observation elevator or scenic elevator, is an elevator with transparent (glass) walls — and sometimes ceiling — that allows passengers to view the building interior or exterior during travel. Panoramic elevators are popular in hotels, shopping centres, airports, and architectural landmark buildings for their aesthetic impact and passenger experience. The glass panels must meet safety glazing standards. Panoramic elevators can be installed in open atria, on building exteriors, or in glazed shafts.
