HD Driver is Hedefsan’s VVVF elevator drive family in three series — P economy and S standard at 5.5–11 kW, M power at 15–22 kW — with vector control and speeds to 3 m/s.
Description
HD Driver is Hedefsan’s VVVF drive family for lifts. It is one product line in three series, and the series letter is the only thing a buyer really has to choose: P, S and M share the same control technology, the same encoder options and the same certification.
Which series, and why
HD Driver P (Economy, part no. HD-S021500) and HD Driver S (Standard, HD-S021600) cover the same power classes — 5.5 kW, 7.5 kW and 11 kW. Hedefsan positions P for budget-focused new installations and for modernisations that replace an older drive, and S for standard passenger lifts, closed-loop vector control on gearless machines, and residential projects where ride comfort and quiet running are the point. HD Driver M (Power, HD-S021603) is the separate case: 15 kW, 18.5 kW and 22 kW, for high-capacity and heavy-traffic work — goods and hospital lifts, and high-rise travel.
Being straight about P versus S
Every figure Hedefsan publishes for P and S is identical: power classes, vector control with closed and open loop, speeds up to 3 m/s, the same three encoder cards, the same protection functions, the same EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 declaration. The published difference is the series designation and the part number. So the honest way to choose between them is by motor power first — which sends you to M or not — and then by asking Hedefsan directly what the P and S boards differ in for your project. We would rather say that than invent a distinction.
Commissioning and protection
All three series run vector control on synchronous (gearless) and asynchronous (geared) machines, with incremental, EnDat-BISS or SinCos encoder interface cards. Automatic calibration, a setup wizard and automatic encoder direction detection shorten commissioning — the encoder does not have to be re-wired to correct its direction. Protection covers overload, short circuit and brake output faults, and the control inputs and outputs are electrically isolated. Hedefsan states energy savings of up to 40 per cent. The drives pair with the HD One X-S, HD 200 X-S and HD BE control boards; if the drive and the board should sit in one contactor-free body instead, that is HD Max. Nazar Elevator also supplies the comparable Arkel ADrive and Aybey AE-LIFT STO, and fits all of them inside complete traction elevator systems.
