Control Panel

Elevator Glossary

The elevator control panel is the main electrical cabinet that houses the controller, frequency inverter (drive), contactors, safety relays, and other electrical components that govern the operation of the elevator system. It is typically installed in the machine room or, in MRL (machine room less) elevators, in a control space adjacent to the shaft. The control panel processes signals from the COP, LOP, safety circuit, and drive system to manage floor calls, door operation, speed control, and safety functions.
